Citizen was started by a bunch of people who want to change this.
Every Citizen product is made using edible surplus food. We rescue this food, then re-work it into delicious food and drink.
Our first product is beer made using surplus bread. Every can uses the fermentable starches from one rescued slice of surplus bread. Slice by slice, it adds up. We then use our brew mash to create a high-quality, nutritious, spent-grain flour that we use to bake Citizen breads.
Behind the scenes, we’re preparing more awesome foods and drinks for launch. It’s all part of our mission to help rebuild a broken food system.

The cornerstone of Lamont Wines is 9 hectares of vineyards, at varying levels of elevation, nestled on the rugged slopes of Bendigo, Central Otago. Here, the landscape is expansive with curious rocky outcrops, resolute patches of Kanuka and the looming Southern Alps. There is a tranquillity to this place and a sense of wonder. For vigneron Craig Gasson, Lamont is a labour of homage to this remarkable site. Craig first began establishing the vineyards in 2001 and is the sole steward managing everything from the day to day vine tending through to sales.
The very foundation of Lamont is hands on and with that the Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Riesling and Pinot Noir Rosé are all quite simply made in the vineyard. Mercury Bay Estate is a boutique, family owned vineyard and winery. Our aim is to produce Coromandel’s finest wines using sustainable means.

The Mercury Bay's rugged coastline covers some 20km of the eastern Coromandel Peninsula in New Zealand. Named after James Cooks voyage of 1769, where under orders of his country, he anchored not far from Cooks Beach in the safe harbour to observe the Transit of Mercury on November 9th 1769, while his ship Endeavour took on fresh provisions.
Mercury Bay Estate is owned by Simon & Veronica Ward and was formed from the vineyard established by Alex Morcom in 1996 (named Shakespeare Cliff Vineyard and later spawned Cooks Beach Vineyard). The vineyard originally contained plantings of Merlot, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay & Sauvignon Blanc.

We started in early 2017 and have supplied cheese wholesale to the best chefs, restaurants, wineries and bars in the country. Since our customers have been forced to close for lockdown we have been updating our online store to offer a greater range. We aim to continue providing an outlet for small cheesemakers to sell their products, they still have milk to process everday. We were established to make these products more accessible for food service, now we want to do the same for the public.

When Webster returned to NZ with a newfound love of tea, the situation slapped him like a wet tea bag to the face – Kiwis had settled for tasteless, bagged dust as tea. Somewhere along the way cheap convenience sucked the goodness out of our brew.
Determined to redeem NZ’s cuppa, he started Webster’s Tea in a shed on the outskirts of Tauranga. Using only quality organic ingredients, Webster’s loose leaf teas look, smell, and taste ridiculously good.
Our cider making journey began in 2008 with Sam and Hannah throwing in their day jobs with the (some said crazy) idea to craft real New Zealand cider from freshly crushed apples in a small shed in Matakana. The first ever batch of Zeffer was sold at their local Farmers’ Market to rave reviews. It was so popular they began stocking a few local stores and soon the word spread far and wide about just how good their cider was. And so, the team grew a bit bigger, tanks grew a bit bigger and eventually we moved Zeffer to Hawke’s Bay – the home of sunshine and apples!
